'Year of the Monk’

Good Eats and Meets just finished up a whirlwind weekend full for food, drink and loads of merriment at the Asheville Wine and Food Festival. What an amazing time was had by all that attended. From the craft cocktail inspired Elixir event on Thursday, the Sweet dessert driven event on Friday and the Grand Tasting event on Saturday, this year’s festival just proves the tested notion that things get better with age.  Good Eats and Meets was honored to take part in three jam packed days of edible and liquid goodness!

It was great to see and taste so many wonderful products, from local to international and to be able to experience the culinary diversity that Asheville is known for.  From wineries, breweries and distilleries, there wasn’t a dry mouth in the house.  Lastly, the intrigue of this year’s mixologist competition at ELIXIR was earned by Kala Brook of Top of the Monk, and Chefs Challenge finalized with a well-deserved quail dish by Hollie West of Sweet Monkey.  2015 truly was the ‘Year of the Monk’ at the Asheville Wine and Food Festival!

We wanted to send out a BIG THANK YOU to all of the sponsors, judges, competitors and vendors... And of course to all the people that attended!!!

The Asheville Wine and Food Festival celebrated seven years of bringing wonderful food and wine to the Asheville are and it only continues to grow each year! It's going to be a HUGE success for many more years to come because of the amazing people that put it together …

Cheers to another amazing year and we look forward to seeing you in 2016!
